Plattorna är multikurvade och är därför formade på ett sådant sätt att de sitter tätt och skönt mot kroppen i plattbäraren. Inte alls särskilt tunga att bära. Man behöver heller ingen spall/fragmentation liner, som för stålplattor.
Notera att klassningen är NIJ lll ICW SRT, vilket bland annat betyder att de kräver mjukt skydd NIJ IIIA bakom plattan för att ge fullgott skydd mot 7,62x51. Stand-alone lär plattorna ge att bra skydd mot 5,56x45, 7,62x39, och de flesta pistol- och revolverkalibrar. Enligt Tyr går keramiken på plattan ända ut i kanterna, vilket är väldigt viktigt. Jag har ännu inte utfört "tap-test" för att bekräfta detta, men man får lita på Tyr. Sammanfattningsvis en bra platta som skyddar mot 99 % av alla hot. Pris och prestanda ger en bra balans här.

The Ceramic Level 3 ICW plate is excellently processed, with a very good weight vs. Nij value and the fit is excellent.
I had already ordered two steel plates "SRT AK47+ Multi-Curve" in 2022, which are positively very thin for their Nij value, the workmanship of these two steel plates is also excellent, but two of these plates are not the best solution for use and maneuvering in the long time/day.
That's why I used the ceramic plate, which has a higher Nij value, on the front of my plate carrier and one of the AK47+ plates as mentioned above on the back, and the carrying comfort and maneuvering, especially in training with primary and secondary weapon (change), makes this combo simply perfect.
What was particularly important to me and despite the fact that the ceramic plate has a guaranteed ballistic durability compared to the steel plates that has no shelf live or at least it will work for 25 years+, is that you do not need any additional splinter/spall protection or add. Trauma pad, so all in all more then just satisfied with the products from Tyr, which I can truly recommend 100% to every professional, private wearer of ballistic inserts, very high quality products made in europe!
P.S:
I put the second AK47+ plate on my second plate carrier as a lighter combo alternative to my primary system; AK47+ plate in the front and Nij 3a hard ballistics in the back.

Inväntar fortfarande platthållare men det märks rätt tydligt att det är nedlagt en hel del vetenskap i dessa ballistiska plåtarna, lättvikt, utmärkt passform utan att hindra eller påverka skyttepositionen mot axeln. Böjd perfekt för att formas runt kroppen. Toppbetyg!
