ODEN AK47 Tactical™ is a swedish made multi-hit capable ballistic shield with edge-to-edge protection and a tactical design that offers excellent cover both when standing up and when kneeling. In contrast to traditional ballistic shields the ODEN series from SPT Protection is scratch resistant, can handle very rough use and has no shelf life.
This model was developed as a durable lightweight shield for protection against handguns/submachine guns and AK-47s, but it also protects against SBR/AR pistol 5,56. The protection level is suitable for most european countries where 7,62x39 (AK47) is the most powerful caliber commonly available among criminals.
The protection level is NIJ 0108.01 Special Type Certified with 7,62x39 (720 m/s) and 5,56x45 (850m/s) - both steel core/steel tip variants like 7,62x39 PS M43 / 5,56x45 SS109 and lead core bullets like 7,62x39 M67 / 5,56x45 M193. The shield also stops all common handgun calibers (like 9x19mm, .357 SIG, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .40 S&W, 10mm etc) including steel core/jacked variants like swedish m/39B and eastern block 7,62x25 (with submachine gun velocities) that penetrates IIIA armor.
The forearm pad is removable and can be replaced if needed. We usually deliver the shield with velcro on the front for use with patches or shield lights. Let us know if you want the shield delivered without velcro.
