SPT Protection® NIJ III ICW SRT SAPI Hard Armor

SPT Protection® Multi-curved and multi-hit capable Ceramic Body Armor Plate. Made with a special tile array instead of monolithic ceramic to reduce crack propagation. For optional ceramic protection/drop resistance the strike face is dressed in a thin layer of soft foam. 

Special Rifle Threat Tested Stand Alone with 5,56x45 NATO, 7,62x39 (AK-47) and 5,45x39 (AK-74). NIJ Level III ICW tested with 7,62x51 M80. This is the highest protection level in our assortment.

In contrast to lightweight UHMWPE armor plates this model will not only stop lead core bullets but also steel tipped penetrator bullets like 5,56 NATO SS109/M855 Green Tip, as well as the russian steel core enhanced penetration 5,45x39 7N10 and 7,62x39 M43 PS (also called 57-N-231). 

Many cheaper ceramic armor plates keep the weight and cost down by using a reduced ceramic strike face that is replaced by foam and therefore not visible. The ceramic strike face often ends 2,5cm from the edge - leaving a large part of the plate not fully protected. On the contrary our plate has nearly full edge to edge protection with only a thin layer of protective foam closest to the edge to avoid brittleness.
